Arts Week 2022 on your ABC
It's ABC's first ever Arts Week, and we're celebrating with an abundance of special programming. From Saturday August 6, you'll find special arts-themed programs and documentaries, thought-provoking articles and talks and much more, right across all ABC platforms.
The theme for Arts Week 2022 is "Art is Everywhere". From the music we stream through our headphones on the way to work, to the books we read to our kids at bedtime; the movies we watch, the theatre we marvel at, the murals we walk past in our streets, the creative hobbies that give us pleasure: art is all around us, all the time. It doesn't matter if you're an arts professional or just having fun; whether you find your art in a major gallery or in the paintings brought home from school.
Art enriches, connects, comforts and inspires.

This documentary presents the comprehensive story of one of Australia's greatest 20th century painters, incorporating rich archive material and rare interviews with Smart and his long-term partner Ermes De Zan at their wonderful Tuscan farmhouse, and vision of places around Arezzo that inspired the artist.
Jeffrey Smart airs Wednesday August 10 at 8.30pm on ABC TV Plus and ABC iview.

Five artistic powerhouses deliver brilliant talks on the theme "Art is Everywhere". Miles Franklin winner Melissa Lucashenko, director Wesley Enoch, writer Sisonke Msimang, comedian Lizzy Hoo and artist Debra Keenahan shift the lens on issues that are important to us all. Arts & Minds is presented in partnership with Australia Council for the Arts.
Arts & Minds will be broadcast on Big Ideas on ABC RN at 8.05pm (AEST) Thursday August 11, available to hear live and on-demand via ABC listen and available on ABC iview from Saturday August 6.
